The first thing I want to do is thank everyone who reads my blog for being patient. I took a break. I needed one. I needed to take the time to look beyond the screen and reconnect with the world around me.
In the last month, I have taken the time to go out and VISIT my clients. To actually get on a plane, rent a car, book a hotel room (or two) and reconnect with those people I see far too little.
The first thing I noticed was how grateful people were that I actually took the time to come and see them. They took the time to share stories with me, both personal and business, about what was actually going on in their lives. What their challenges were, what they thought the future held and how we could help them solve problems together.
This time away from the office to me is invaluable. I get to build stronger relationships and it helps me understand how to develop marketing campaigns that are meaningful and successful.
I am reminded time and again that this business is about people and ideas. The more personal you can become with your clients and the more you can understand the underlying brand of the company, the more relevant your work can be.
I am reminded of a blog post of Seth Godin. . . Seven Marketing Sins. The more we are open to the world around us and the more we spend the time to be curious and honest, the more successful we can become.
I am back, re-energized and looking forward to working with you, my clients, to Get YOU Noticed!
