I am a firm believer of giving back to the community. We belong to a Big school, 550 kids with both an English and French track for education and a wonderfully active Parents Advisory Council.
This spring, they decided to hold an outdoor carnival on the school grounds not only for the enjoyment of the kids and parents but also to raise some money for the extra things that every school needs.
My wife is on the fundraising committee for the school, so she volunteered me to help out. The committee members came to me looking for fun ideas of how to make the day extra special for the kids.
I said BALLOONS AND LOTS OF THEM!
Every kid loves balloons and it seemed the perfect way to decorate the school.
They loved the idea and we were more than happy to donate the balloons if we could have our logo on them as well.
The results were amazing. The kids had fun, everyone who wanted a balloon walked away with one, the school looked great, they made money and we were able to get some return on our investment for our donation in terms of goodwill.
A win/win for all.
Marketing is all about having the right message at the right place at the right time. In this case, it Got US Noticed! in a positive way and helps promote our brand as being active members of the community.
