Why do people think that their content marketing should be nothing more than a features and benefits sheet for their company?

It amazes me how many times I click through posts and the one thing that I am aware of is “look at us and how wonderful we are.” That is NOT Content Marketing!
Content Marketing is all about creating value for your readers. It is about developing content that allows your reader to learn and expand their knowledge of a specific subject. Great content creators are story tellers. They take the reader on a journey and allow them to draw their own conclusions based upon the information provided.
Take the time to find out what are the main issues that your customers (and potential customers) have. Then, go looking for, or create content, that allows them to gain better insight and understanding. That is how you become valuable as a supplier. Anyone can come up with a cheaper price, but that is a short term way to gain clients with no possibility of loyalty. Only those who can help people resolve issues, gain better understanding and open people up to new ways of thought will create customers that are loyal and become brand advocates.
Take the time to really look at the content that you are sharing with your audience. Is it relevant? Is it Tangible Evidence that reminds people of your brand? Will it Get YOU Noticed?
